Photo Club is back after a long layover. Photo Club meets every Tuesday (developing and learning - 5:30 @ The Key) and Saturday (photo shoot - 11:00 @ The Key) and is led by St. Olaf photographer Ben Hovland. Ben Hovland served as an assistant to 2007-2008 instructor Joe May. May was mentoring then high school senior Tom Launer when the two of them decided that enough interest was out there for a program. Ben teaches all aspects of photography from camera maintenance to shooting and developing. The program has also utilized the two colleges as students from St. Olaf and Carleton have committed to helping the program, including one-on-one mentorships. Any youth interested in participating should come to a Tuesday meeting. The Key has “loaner” cameras available for anyone to borrow.
