Key’s Ruth Amerman Named HCI’s “Making a Difference” Award

“Ruth Amerman is the March recipient of the HCI Making a Difference Award. Ruth was nominated based on her leadership abilities and the role she played in organizing community discussions and meetings on heroin and chemical abuse. Ruth also spearheaded the “Vote Youth” campaign during the 2008 Northfield mayoral race. She works to empower youth and serves as a role model for future youth leaders.
She is a senior at Northfield High School and currently serves as the Northfield Union of Youth (NUY) Youth Board President.
The Making a Difference Award celebrates groups and individuals in the community who have a positive influence on Northfield youth. It is presented monthly by HCI and the Northfield News.
