The NUY’s Book Club went through quite an experience with its last book Ishmael. Ishmael brought out more thought-provoking discussion than any other book up to this point. We know we probably can’t top that book, but do realize that there are other books out there than can generate a similar discussion. With that in mind, Book Club is happy to present the next book: Into the Wild by Jon Kraukauer. Into the Wild is the story of a young man who rejects his family, gives up his worldly possessions, travels the United States, and ends up in Alaska only to die 4 months later. Book Club will hand out this book Monday the 14th (there will be one more discussion for Ishmael on the 7th at 5:00pm) at 5:00pm. Copies of the book are FREE and available to anyone ages 12-20 as long as they attend the weekly meetings.

Another success story! As part of Mainstreet Mentors, Kellen Kirchberg and Marie Fischer have been mentoring under Nick Sinclair for half a year. To celebrate their work, Grezzo is holding an art show and reception for Kellen and Marie. The recpetion will be held at Grezzo Gallery (located on Bridge Square), January 4th from 6-9pm, with the show continuing only until Saturday. Bring your posh, artsy self and be prepared to have your right brain blown out your ear by the creativity you shall soon behold. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
