Northfield Healthy Kids Day - Breakdance Photos

Here are the breakdance photos from the 10:30 to 11:00 session. A special thanks goes to Joe McGowan for saving the day with this session.
The Key to participate in 1st annual Healthy Kids Day
Posted by Joshua Jude, April 12th , 2007.As seen by the flyer, The Northfield Union of Youth, along with their cronies in the Skateboard Coalition, will be tabling during the first annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 14th. This event will be at the Northfield Middle School and take place from 9:00am until 12:30pm. Both groups (along with many others) will be also be putting on demonstrations. The Skateboard Coalition will put on a skateboarding demo from 11:15am until 12:30pm (weather permitting) and breakdancers, representing The Key, will perform from 10:30 until 11:00am. So don’t forget to eat your Rice Crispies, drink your freshly pasteurized Tropicana, and watch your Disney before attending this event.
Glass Beads for April 17th Art Project
Posted by Joshua Jude, April 10th , 2007.The Key’s Art Project will be lampworking (glass beads) for Tuesday the 17th of April. Show up at 6:30 and be ready to melt some glass. All newcomers must take the five minute safety course from Art Project Coordinator Amy Merritt. This project is FREE and open to all youth ages 12-20.
Eccentric Circus is April 28th
Posted by Joshua Jude, April 6th , 2007.This poster is a blast from the past. This year’s Eccentric Circus will be Saturday April 28th from 4pm until midnight at the Carelton Cave. The cost will be $5 ($4 with costume) and all proceeds will go to benefit The Key. Ten bands, poetry slam, comedy, talent show, and much much more to be announced. This year’s theme is Failed Superheros, so dress accordingly. Look for a clever marketing blitz in the near future.
Skatepark T-shirts for sale
Posted by Joshua Jude, April 5th , 2007.Here is the design for the skatepark t-shirts. We have them in red and yellow and most sizes. The cost is $10 and shirts will be sold at The Key Monday through Friday from 4:00pm until 10:00pm. All proceeds will benefit the future skatepark in town. Northfield Comprehensive Plan April 3rd
Posted by Joshua Jude, April 3rd , 2007.On April 3rd 2007, The Northfield Union of Youth (The Key) made their presence known at the Armory for the Comprehensive Plan, a meeting that is kickstarting the plan for future land use and development patterns. Over 240 Northfield resident showed up for the meeting. The topics were wide-ranging, but focused mainly on possible future usage of undeveloped land, infill locations, and redeveloped areas. The how and where of future growth were specifically addressed and discussed. Jamie Green (a hired consultant), the lead consultant for ACP Planning led the meeting. Photos from the 4/2/07 Mentoring Coalition Field Trip
Posted by Joshua Jude, April 3rd , 2007.Northfield’s Mentoring Coalition, which includes The Key’s Mainstreet Mentors, went on a field trip to the Science Museum on Monday the 2nd of April. Youth from The Key served as mentors for the elementary and middle school youth. Their maturity and behavior were more than impressive. Here are some of the pictures from the event.
