Lately there has been much interest in the works and life of Truman Capote. The author shocked the world by publishing his masterpiece In Cold Blood in 1965, after spending years working on it. The book describes in gritty detail (as well as background and aftermath) of the 1959 quadruple slaying of a Kansas farming family. The work was immediately hailed as a masterpiece in the blending of fiction and nonfiction and went on to set a standard in the nonfiction novel. Book Club will be handing out the book Monday, the 22nd, at 5:00pm. This book is FREE to all interested participants. So come on down and check out the hype by picking up a copy. We will be reading assigned reading for the following month or so. When finished with the book, readers will get a chance to watch the movie of the same title, as well as the 2005 release of Capote.
