The Key’s mentoring program, Mainstreet Mentors, is up and running again. If you are a youth in middle school or high school (or of that age) and are looking for a mentorship, then this program is for you. If you are looking for help in a subject or just want to learn something new, we can help. From Ancient Greek to rockclimbing to zoology we will do our best to find you a match. Also, if you are an adult in the community looking to mentor a middle school or high school youth, please contact us. Please email Mainstreet Mentors at mainstreetmentors@gmail.com. Our youth coordinator, Joe McGowan, or our Carleton College coordinators, will get in contact with you shortly. Mainstreet Mentors has been made possible by a grant from Women in Northfield Giving Support (WINGS) with much appreciation to the ACT center at Carleton.

After many serious and sometimes somber novels, Book Club will be reading the hilarious Confederacy of Dunces by the late John Kennedy Toole. Many consider this Pulitzer Prize winning novel a comic masterpiece. The novels follows Ignatius J. Reilly and his many (mis)adventures as he stumbles through the streets of eccentric New Orleans. This novel was published ten years after Toole’s death and was his only major work.
